Sports
There are a lot of bloggers who, I swear, are actually jobless sports writers. Now I have long since lost the habit of reading or watching sports; but I know there is an audience out there. Would it be worthwhile to do sports commentary?

One cautionary note - can we keep it light on the baseball? I loved the Ken Burns series as much as the next guy, but there's this syndrome where otherwise reasonable writers suddenly get the philosophical longeurs when they try to tell the world their profound feelings about baseball. Either that or they start quoting stats. Both are to be avoided.
OTOH, Colby Cosh covering chess would be a thing-of-beauty(tm).
